Cyber criminals and fraudsters love generative AI even more than businesses and consumers do. For a scammer, hallucinations and errors are features instead of bugs, and they are using AI to flood the web, and every one of our communication channels, with sophisticated fake content. Users are getting fooled and scammed every day, and the problem is only getting worse. This talk will explore why known approaches, such as deepfake detection, email filtering, and security training, haven't stopped misinformation and social engineering, and what we can do about it.
