About me
Kevin Sahota is a cybersecurity leader with more than 30 years of experience across security operations, threat intelligence, risk, digital forensics, and incident response within highly regulated industries, including financial services, insurance, and critical infrastructure. He has built and led high performing teams at organizations such as eBay, Bank of Montreal, Teck Resources, BC Hydro and Wawanesa Insurance.
Kevin is recognized for pairing deep technical expertise with strategic execution, helping enterprises measurably mature their security posture. He believes that trust, empathy, and strong relationships are foundational to success—both in cyber defense and in leadership.
He holds CISSP and CISM certifications, along with eight GIAC credentials, and has received multiple SANS awards, including Lethal Forensicator and Capstone Winner honors. Kevin is also a co founder of several cybersecurity communities, including DC604. Kevin has previously presented at BSides Vancouver, with talks including Leveraging Quantified Risk with Your Cyber Threat Intelligence Program (2021) and Building an Enterprise Threat Hunting Program (2019).
